What
the...? |
The internet is an amazing resource for martial arts. There are dozens of quality sites with novel and practical ideas for beginners and experts alike. If you are looking for sensible information on martial arts training, check out the links listed in the home page, have a read of this month's feature article, or download past feature articles.
This page, however, is dedicated to the dregs; the inane and impractical; the kind of moves that make you go, "what the....?". Needless to say, UQTKD does not endorse the material and/or advice that appears here, and will not be held accountable for any damages, physical or social, that are incurred through their use.

Technique for defence against knife attack
|
|
| This "What the?",
submitted by Colin, is a real concern. It proposes that, when attacked
by a larger, stronger, knife-wielding opponent, an effective measure is
to throw oneself to the ground, employ some sort of leg sweep to bring
the attacker down (whilst blocking the knife), and from there stab to
the eye before getting up and running away. The triceps of this poor
girl are supposed to repel the knife, held by a heavy, strong opponent,
who now has the advantage of a downward thrust into a trapped and
largely immobile target.

Technique for avoiding and countering a reverse punch attack

| Double your chances of evading the punch by blocking and ducking, just like a pro boxer. Clench your jaw nice and tight, because if he thinks to use his other hand, you're in trouble. | Take a moment to really focus your response. From here, the folly of your opponent's attack should be obvious. | Wind her up and let her
go! Keep the wrist nice and bent to absorb the shock that might otherwise
damage your elbow.
