Tai Chi

As well as learning Tai Chi within Lei Quan Gong, students have the opportunity to learn Tai Chi in separate classes. These separate classes are specially suited for students who do not wish to train the harder, more rigorous elements of Lei Quan Gong.

The Club teaches the Yang style of Tai Chi Chuan. The style originated about 1,400 years ago in China and was founded by Shaolin monks who at the time had started to develop internal systems of self-defence that were based on the concept of using internal energy (Chi). Tai Chi has many health benefits. The art is beautiful to watch and practice.

Tai Chi classes are held throughout the year on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, and are run by the Tai Chi Instructor David Colbert. Casual training fees are $4 per lesson and can be paid to the Tai Chi representative present at the class.
